Before you lace up your sneakers and head off to workout stop and take a moment to re-balance. Get clear, get focused and get perspective.
Get clear on what you want and need to be healthy and happy. Create a list and write down the first five things you can think of that you want and the first five things you can think of that you need. Remember the difference between want and need. You want a new car versus you need air to survive. Don’t judge your thoughts just write down the first five that come to mind.
Get focused on the things that are or should be a priority in your life. Your health is one of them because compromised health changes your life and the lives of those who are closest to you. Write down your top three priorities along with two action steps that need to take place in order to sharpen your focus and eliminate distractions. Again, don’t judge your thoughts just write down the first three that come to mind.
Get perspective on what it is your trying to accomplish.
Go back to your list of needs and write down one sentence that describes why each is need is important to you. Do the same with your list of top priorities.
Now read over your list of needs and top priorities complete with your reasonings and you will have a pretty good idea of where your heart and soul is right now. These are the things you should work on. You may need a little help. Maybe work with a life coach, chat with a trusted friend or turn inward and spend some quality time with yourself.
Giving to yourself feels good and taking the time to sit and listen to your thoughts gets you in touch with your feelings. Taking time out to think things through can give you the motivation and drive you’ve been searching for. Do this and get healthy and fit from the inside out while you rejuvenate and re-balance!
